Japan is home to rich traditions of weaving and dyeing, reflected many aspects of Japanese design, but especially in kimono and other traditional garments.
As times change and people have fewer opportunities to wear these garments, they often get stored away, forgotten and unused for decades. My aim is to rediscover and breathe new life into these wonderful garments, by crafting them into designs that people will wear today.
Together with other artists using traditional Japanese materials, I have started to exhibit my works at galleries around regional Victoria, including The Gallery Mount Macedon and Yarram Courthouse Gallery.
Future exhibition dates will be announced on this page.
